Couple of years ago, some one from California had given me the bengali book, called "Sahaj Kriya Yoga" written by Dwarkanath. In that book, it was mentioned that Sri VaradCharan Majumdar acknowledged Sri Aurobindo as a great yogi of the time. However, it never eluded that he (Sri Aurabindo) performed any form of Kriya yoga.

Sri Varadcharan Majmudar was a great Kriya yogi during mid 1900. So, it appears that Sri Aurabindo did know great kriyayogis of his time.
