Subject: thought/mind

Mind is the deadliest of foes, but the most useful of servants. Though the mind is fond of pleasures, no single pleasure ever pleases it for all time. Unless it comes across something vastly superior the mind cannot be weaned from them.

Brain researchers are realizing that mind is not limited or even found in the brain or body. The mind of self is received by or works through the nervous system.
Consciousness is separate from the mind; the soul, the seat of awareness itself, is the detached observer of the mental processes. Consciousness is the energy coursing through the mind and body, employing them.
With the calming of the mind through pranayama the soul is able to distinguish between itself and the mind. You become the detached observer of your thoughts. You start to see yourself as pure awareness between thoughts.
So pranayama meditation de-conditions and thus frees you from your past karma. The freedom is not for you, but from you. This freedom is from dependency and attachment, from the craving for experience, from the very structure of thought.

Each individual chooses which thoughts to think from innumerable thoughts that have already been thought in the AUM syllable. These thoughts enter the body at the medulla oblongata as an astral blue wave and then create an upward whirling pattern in the brain. When they enter the mind by an act of will they wear the garb of the language the individual is thinking in.
All the endless thoughts of the infinite are contained in the one word of the infinite, which has been symbolically called AUM, amen, amin, hum, and omne by the various religious traditions. This word or vibration is both beyond thoughts and language yet gives birth to the infinite thoughts, which structure the world and in turn give rise to human languages.

Finer than prana are the ideas, the finer thoughts. Casual beings through these finer thoughts manipulate prana to create whatever they want. Their thoughts are instantly realized. Beyond thoughts is the uniting and undivided sea of consciousness.
