Interesting question. Mt bet is that it depends upon the person and the type of meditation employed. For example someone meditating on inner sound is likely to have a different experience to someone concentrating on light.

The yogi might not be aware of if and when the sense of smell or taste is withdrawn from the external world, similarly a yogi with eyes closed is unlikely to be aware of withdrawal of sense from the physical eyes.

My belief is that in general touch would be the last thing to withdraw in a living yogi, and hearing the first, but I cannot remember reading about this from any reputable source.
