Actually, any path has limitations, simply because the path is not the goal. Once the goal is attained, there is no need for a path, but until then either you take an existing path or make your own.
Self-realization is very simple, but the preparation to attain it depends on the nature of each person. That's why there are many paths, so that people can choose the best one for them. Offers exist only because of demand.
Undoubtably people can make bad decisions, but sooner or later everything falls into place.
