No. 32:
Disciple's letter:
"I am doing the practices of the Tranquil Breath."

See? Because the breath is sealed so that there is correct pressure to do the work contained in those Kriyas. So it is the "works of tranquil (still) breath"

Lord, if one is shown the Kriya of Paranhansa Yogananda then there is no need to even discuss this kechari so Why the fascination even? UNless Paramhansa taught them to use the kechari. The talk goes on and on.
It is apples and oranges. One likes apples better and the other likes oranges. Some try to mix the apples with the oranges. It is better to jjust trust the Guru and have faith.
In Kriya only what is shown by Guru is needed. Guru knows best. If one has surrendered to Paramhansa Yogananda then please surrender to him and trust! He knows best!

All can be acheived without Kechari from 1st kriya alone ( or from Yoganandaji s system).
Of course! We used to say it dozens of times on these message boards. We used to have one of these message boards to explain these things and inspire eachother to practice but finally gave up because of all the harassment and constant name calling.

So, it is asked then by "dr" who says---- "why perform kechari?"
Well, for the Yogis that practice the traditional system of Kriya it is this reason-
Because if you can do Kechari (and therefore step into the higher kriyas) the time is much shorter for "acheiving".
See the words of my Dadu's Guru, Sriyukteshvar ji--

"Thus, if the householder life requires a good amount of labor and rest, one should perform bhuta shuddhi Kriya at the three transitional periods of dawn, midday and dusk every day. In this way, doing Kriya at the three transitional periods regularly every day, in a little more than a lunar month - in 34 days - and even if Kriya is not done one or two times because of important occasions or some events in householder life then in 36 days, one completes 100 bhuta shuddhi Kriyas. It has already been shown that the amount of evolution in the realization of Consciousness that would take 12 physical years can be accomplished by one bhuta shuddhi Kriya."

>My note of explanation here---
one "bhutta shiddhi Kriya" means 150 of the First kriya Pranayam (that is , 148 plus one for the dawn and one for the dusk, menaing 150 in all)<

Ok, Sriyukteshvaji continues--

"Therefore, completing 100 [bhuta shuddhi] Kriyas in 36 days accomplishes the work of one Kali Yuga's length of 1,200 years. Then the Dvapara yugavastha is attained and one can perceive the existence of the subtle body, the second aspect of Consciousness. In this way [First Kriya pranayam], the work of four yugas of Consciousness-realization that would normally take 12,000 years are accomplished by sadhakas in 360 days or one solar year, by which all four aspects of the beyond-creation Brahman-Consciousness is fully realized. Later, according to Sadguru's instructions, by Omkar Kriya etc. one can realize the different luminous levels of Consciousness in 3 years or 39 lunar months, and thereafter accomplish the work of 12,000,000 years or one kalpa in 12 years, attaining Kaivalya, or seeing the Self as pervading all things of the Cosmos, and thus realizing Brahman. The saints have said that if sadhakas do not go astray in a wrong direction, even progressing in Kriya slowly can bring the attainment of Kaivalya or Brahman in 36 years, or 39 years if some occasions or events of householder life hinder progress. But diligent sadhakas can also complete this work and attain Kaivalya or Brahman at a high speed of even less than 12 years."

........Sriyuktehsvar from His Gita Chapter 4 verse 8.

Is it clear?
Look, I learned these things from my Dadu.
He learned them at the feet of Sriyukteshvar. Sriyuktehsvar learned them at the feet of Lahiri Baba. Lahiri Baba learned them at the feet of the Babaji.
My Dadu used to go over and over these matters and he had me write everyting into my notebook. He used to check that notebook every night to make sure things had been recorded correctly. Sometimes he would say--"hey! you wrote such and such but please make it say this other thing as well".

There are great people who teach this Kriya and you can find them if you look very hard (and I am NOT one of them!). But they will be hidden. You have to look hard. More common are very visible teachers most of whom are frauds.

OK

So "that's the dish" as we used to say in the cooking business!
:-)

Friends, the truth is my friends dont want me to post this here because sometimes people are alittle mean to me here. But it is all just misunderstandings between friends and good natured people..
Last time I came here because somone posted somethign very mean and signed it with my name backwards. So I came to try and clear any misunderstanding. And I tried to answer someones question which they had about an old post I had made long ago concerning a " Kriya teacher" who lives in the mountainous north of India who is a friend of a friend (a friend the same dear Swami friend I mentioned above who is translating the 1000 names of Lalita with me and who used to have a Kriya website dedicated to Panchanon Baba line). I was trying to help the person but my post was deleted because they said it was "name dropping".
I did not understand it but apparently some rule of the board had been broken. But it was not intetional on my part to break any rule. I was trying to help. So I ask to be forgiven if I break the rules. It is not intentional.

About that post and Kriya teacher in the mountains, Someone else came and posted aftrer me saying--
"OH! That is just Master "so and so" and he has already left the body"
but that is NOT accurate. The teacher I was referring to is still very much alive. He is a renunciate of the Swami Order and a teacher of Kriya Yoga. Not a householder. And he is verfy much alive.

OK, now I have posted here

Can you forgive me that I don't come here very often. In fact almost never. I am a once ayear visitor. This is my 2005 visit! :-)
I don't mean it is not a good place. I just mean that people will want to argue over what I have said and what I have said here is not my own theory so there is nothign to argue about. What I have written here is the teachings my Master received from his Master. These are not my ideas.
We talked about all this over and over and over when I was at his house.
So after psoting I do not care to come back and see them argued with.
Maybe it will be deleted for a reason or for breaking the rules. If so then I am sorry and I mean to break no rule. But it was fun to write this post and to remember the things my Dadu had so carefully explained to me.
It is good to carefully remember these things.
So thank you for the opportunity. It is alwasy good to remember these things and to place the mind on them and the memory of my Master.

Friend, see? I just wanted to talk.
Not to be mean and say mean things or try to slander your name and reputation.

Look, I want you to understand something---this Yoga Niketan that you said mean things about, it is made by people who work hard on it for not one penny of pay.
We are often helped by many people such my SWami friend of the Panchanon baba line who helps us often (he is a Sanskrit scholar)and also we had much help from our friend of the Sanyal Mahasay line who had Kriya via the Sanyal line passed down from Pandit Lingaraj Purohit. Some of these lines are very secret and wish to stay that way. MY late friend Sri Ramendra ji of the Pranabananda line also used to love the website and he sent materials such as the story of his father's passing (Passing of Sri Janendranath Mukhopdayay, lofty disciple of Pranabananda Swami) which he had translated himself by his own hand just for that purpose of having it on the Yoga Niketan website. So when you say mean things you are saying it to all of them involved.
So have a little respect. These are great beings.
They are not sitting around complaining and acting likke big babas. They are actually working to help people by translating this historicmaterial. Think about it. And they do it for no payment or not even for any recognition! Think it over.

One last thing---do you know why we dont usually discuss things like this?
because there are people who read them and absorb these ideas and then make a website with a "Cyber Kriya intiation form" with "Paypal" and they say --"Oh, you want Kriya intiation over the telephone? OK. 190 dollars please".
So think about that as well. Each time someone discusses some private Kriya thing on this board those people read it and add it to the "190 dollar collection".

That is the danger.

But also it is true that some people just have no respect at all.

This man named Shivanath here seems very good.
See what he has written---

"I think where we can all agree is that paravastha, and the technique for attaining it in 1st kriya, is the main thing. Higher kriyas, mudras etc. are perhaps enhancements but not requirements for attaining paravastha and should not therefore be over-emphasized."

It gives a thrill to read it. He really knows!
Hello Shivanath Sir.
Pranam to your feet.

Ok. Thank you.
