Thanks for the info.

Arran Stephens also mentions such hints made by Kirpal (haven't read beyond Kirpal's passing though), but why did Kirpal not declare so in public without apparent reason? And refused to give a clear answer when asked, except to a few select people like Sushil Kumar?

He must have had his reasons.

Perhaps Kirpal saw that at the time of his death there was no one who had attained to his stature, and he saw no indication that there would be in the foreseeable future. But the work had to be carried on, and Darshan was one of the candidates best suited.

Darshan may have been a good man and highly advanced, but not necessarily equal to Kirpal as regards spiritual rulership. I am just guessing.

This is a possibility. Have to carry on my research.

One generation earlier the situation was different: Kirpal came to Hazur as a complete stranger and qualified solely by his spiritual maturing. Even then there seem to have been conflicts later on with competing disciples who thought they had 'official' rights to ascend to Hazur's throne.

It appears as if this mixing up of spiritual with family or community successorship is bound to create conflict.
