McPhee showed he could match it in first grade and has a future in the league. Dennis played a handful of games of the bench for first grade and Alchaar didn't get a run in first grade last year. The three of them did play an "admirable" and important part over the last four years with Port. Unfortunately, they've opted to go elsewhere and we wish them all the best. However, the guys signed to cover the loss of them aren't fringe 2nd graders. Mick Cross and Daniel Matthews have already proven themselves in the top grade while Stuart Philpott and Josh Edwards are talented juniors coming into grade. Lincoln Hutchison has the runs on the board in Group Seven and only time will tell if he can handle Illawarra League Football. Port Juniors Matt Michalowski and Keiran Jack look like being back at Port in grade also and they have already shown that they have the potential to make it in the top grade. Lets just wait until the season gets under way before writing players off.
