Misgivings, fear, distress, lonelyness.

Each emotion coursed through him like the pulsing of a heart. These came from Valenthe, more intense than they had been from Lashana. He knew them now, he could feel them, slowly intergrated into his being. Trust, distrust, love, hate. Oh how Chaos would be displeased for a golem to know true emotions.

Ruby faded to copper and held true. Nothing would happen to her. He knew her thoughts now, every detail, relayed to him from the leashless bond binding them together. Everything she might feel from him would be nothing more than an echo of her own feelings.

He returned to his orginal state, quiet, no thoughts of his own. The vampires nothing more than an afterpurpose, whether be strengthened by Valenthe, or lost all together.

Only she mattered.

Through the eyes of the fox, only one emtion was apparent.

Regret.
