The creature that paused in front of Valenthe changed, though one who was not watching closely would not have seen or noticed it. Eyes that had previously been a crimson maelstrom of color shifted to a steady copper and watched the one it had bonded to with a kind of devotion, one different from that of a pet, but similar to that of a child for a parent, or a parent for a child. It's body trembled for an unknown reason, surely it wasn't cold? She didn't think so. Turning her head at a flooding of energies, warm and soothing, a breath of pure life, the power of creation, she blinked. The last time she had felt this kind of energy was before her mother had died, and then it had been nothing compared to this. Silence stretched between the three gathered under the trees, a shimmering web of fragility that the least sound on their parts would cause it to shatter. It seemed as though the whole of the forest was holding it's breath, waiting to see who would sound out first and break the mesh of silence.
