The figurines lay scattered on the ground, along with the two daggers, the hair needles that were just as deadly as any dagger, and the various pouches Lashana had carried. Sniffing at the ground around the objects told the Guardian what had taken her friend prisoner. The agony of Lashana echoed down the Weave, though she had blocked it from her own awareness, she hadn't blocked the Weave from being aware of her. If the foolish girl managed to string together a handful of thoughts she would realize she could use the Weave to escape. But the waves of agony, both physical and mental were extreme, and the likelihood of that happening were becoming remote. The knight she had been leading the other elves too stood a very good chance at retrieving her, of course his going to the demonrealm would break a spell his own people set. Knowing that the spell binding the monster to his own realm could only be broken one of two ways was frustrating, especially since she couldn't reach the knight in time to warn him. The two terms for the spell to be broken were this, either all of the Hogoromo clan had to be dead, or even more unlikely was for a knight of that same clan to enter the demonrealm willingly. Mateo and his dear sister had come damned close to wiping out the Hogoromo clan, and by placing an irresistable bait for the knight, it looked as though the spell would be undone in a very short time. Of course there was no promising that Onimaru would exit his domain, it was where he was safe, and could leave the dirty work to underlings and vampires. He seemed to have everything exactly the way he wanted them........or did he?
