She stared softly at Ceallac, and her eyes lingered on the ring. Her right hand lifted and gingerly hovered her fingers over the ring offered to her, her eyes thoughtful, wondering. Beauty was only skin deep. The radiating horrors from Ceallac's soul alone was enough to keep her from ebbing into the tides of seduction. She withdrew her hand.

She felt no fear, no anger, only a sort of sad air about her gave away what she was feeling.

"I cannot."

Her eyes turned away from him, and her left hand firmly gripped the hilt of the IceWind, the silver feather on it glittering in the nonlight that was surrounding them.

"I wish not to live in a shroud of darkness."
