Scrambling backwards away from Zigorot caused a surge of pain that flooded her temples and traveled down the length of her body. Breaking eye contact with the winged snake she looked down at her bleeding body. The left side of her body, from her knee up to her ribs had a thin line of red starting to show, one that was expanding slowly. The rips and tears in her clothes along that side were small and numerous, and the cuts showing through the holes were shallow. Reaching into the pack which had somehow remained attached to her back, she pulled out a very small vial of clear liquid. Breaking the wax seal on it she drank it quickly, grimacing at the foul taste. As soon as the liquid was gone from the bottle the cuts began to heal, with the pain pounding through her system fading rapidly she was able to turn and regard the reptile in front of her.
"Why should I sing for you? You kidnap me for no reason that I was given, scare the daylights out of me and threaten to devour me. I won't sing for you because you demand it, I'll sing for you because I choose to, not because your asking me. The wounds inflicted on you by that glittering gadfly won't kill you, unlike you her claws and blood are not poisonous.
Glaring up at the winged snake in front of her she thought briefly of what she could sing. Grinning inwardly she sang one song that would either appeal to him, or annoy the hell out of him. It had to do with a black river snake going into a human's garden and seeing this vision of loveliness, coiled and green lying in the sun. He had coiled around his new love, swearing that he would never be untrue. When darkness came he left, but promised to return the next day. When he came back the human was holding the love of his life, and water was coming from his love's mouth. He realized then, that it was no snake he had fallen in love with, but a garden hose!
She refused to look up, afraid that she would either start laughing uncontrollably, or stop singing altogether. She kept her eyes focused firmly on her hands and did not see what happened next.
