A stream of sadness and a river of grief,
Borne by fate's flow to the sea of endlessness.
A pond of serenity, a lake of calmness,
Stillness of water that slowly brings peace.
Swirling liquid of the whirlpools of life,
Constantly changing, always moving without stop.

The wolf's muzzle touched her shoulder, and blindly she reached and curled one arm around his neck seeking the comfort he offered so freely. Her life seemed like the whirlpools that one might find along the shores of the ocean, always moving and causing destruction to anything that might come to close, even if it was something that could grant momentary peace. Clowie's presence was forgotten, and pushing away from her friend, she turned, her wings flickered between bladed and feathers without any conscious direction from her. Walking to the edge of the clearing, she grabbed one of the low hanging branches and swung up into the trees, the rough bark firm beneath her bare feet. Swinging higher, she paused only long enough to catch her balance before seeking the solace of running through what had always been her home, the note still lying on the ground where she had left it. She heard the wolves baying through the trees beneath her, following her without any hesitation. When she returned to ground, they would be there waiting for her.
