One... I am nothing.
Two... There is nothing.
Three... I see light.
Four... An image forms within it.
Five... A countdown on unseen lips.
Six... Tearing, a sensation of realities shattering.
Seven... Where am I?
Eight... Image speaks, words gentle yet strangely deceptive.
Nine... "No harm, little one, only take my hand."
Ten... Reaching as final number crosses a mouth turned smiling.
She wasn't alone.
Tyrsis' senses snapped to awares before she did, hand instinctively reaching for the small trio of throwing knives she had previously carried. Fingers brushed air and her mind caught up to her body, a soft tremble running across her as she realized she had gained her feet before she had gained consciousness. Some habits died hard, others were nurtured.
"Who are you?" Another impulse as her hand slid to what had previously been her sword's hilt, and was now only a small bag of tears turned to gem. Eyes the color of sunlight on water looked over her newest companion, soft smile holding a note of distrust... almost as though she understood...
"Chaos." Red lips formed the words as slender fingers drew the dark blue hood away from her face, runes glimmering the same golden as Tyrsis' eyes in the dim light. "My name is Chaos, child, not my purpose. Please sit again, if I had intended harm it would have been done long before you had awoken."
Tyrsis eyed the woman, noting each detail as carefully as she could. "What do you want?" Her words echoed dark around her ears, library bringing them back in a sense of hollowness, abandonment.
Chaos laughed, sound forsaking even the shadows as a thin layering of dust fell from raftered ceiling. "I don't want a thing. The storm drove me here, just as I'd imagine it did to you. I found you in what seemed to be some sort of fever, tossing in your sleep, and I could not arrouse you. I chose to stay, though the storm has long passed."
Tyrsis' eyes strayed to the broken doorway, returning to Chaos as she recognized the storm had truly passed. Sunshine seemed to call her away from this dank, lifeless library and its abandoned halls.
"They haunt you, I can feel it." The woman's voice startled Tyrsis from sunlight's distraction. "There is a feel to this place, an ancientness that seems as though it should not be disturbed. So long as you are here, you are untouchable to any but the wolf-guardian. He stands in neither light nor dark, weave nor shadow, but is contained just as they. Two have come free, drawing others in an endless purpose towards their desire. You can hear their count, see them in your dreams. They are the sensation that follows you, and yet dares not to touch you while you yet walk on hallowed grounds. I want you to do a favour for me, Seer. Set life free again before too much becomes beyond reach. My disciple knows how."

A soft thought traced along Chaos' mind, intoxicating with the sense of energy that flowed through it, one carried between disciple and master. Heaven's Gate will lead you to both, though you don't see it yet. A Seer waits there, once she arrives, I will explain.
