A heartbeat, nothing less. Breath escaping between pursed lips as a hollow eclipse of emotion, inaudible sigh torn away across deserted winds. Weariness settled across her, a literal mantle of wet blanket, heavy and suffocating as it tore air from lungs gone dry. Persperation slickened her skin, moist sheen increasing the blanket-like affect. She was drowning. Breath a harsh rasp in her ears, dull whine screaming of damage to the eardrum. She wanted to run, limbs pinned against unseen bonds, cords binding her though invisable to slowly dimming senses. All was fading black, darkness a new shroud as covering turned onyx.
Tyrsis woke with a start, wings unfurling protectively and portraying the telltale sign of metal on metal. Her feathers clattered against a now gentle wind, touching one another with the same sound her mother's chimes had made when the summer breezes crossed the plains in front of her childhood home. She was standing, similair plains stretched around her in four directions, broken only by a small mountain range far to the southeast. For once in her life, Tyrsis Stormwind had absolutely no idea where she was. This place felt desolate, an emptyness draped across the horizon and threatening to consume. She nearly expected the sky to fall. Across feilds of near white vegatation, a temple rose stark against the sky. A peice of her heart seemed to thrum there, a thought crossing her mind.
Am I in Heaven?
She had no idea how close to truth that thought just might be.
