"My plans are in a position to be thwarted by children even if they don't know it, and that shadowchild is not doing what I had instructed her to do. She was to get Wyrd to go after the Goddess, not a serious strike of course, more of a warning. And now it seems that my dear sister Chaos has decided to join the game! Add to that Kyuusai's involvement in this and you end up with a very undesirable mess. I believe I shall have to rethink our plans to match these unwelcome circumstances, I refuse to be defeated by insects. I need some good news, tell me that your attempt to return the Kestral to play has succeeded?

The vampire she had been chasing had managed to vanish, hiding herself from the Weave and her own earthsense. The vampire wasn't destroyed, the thread that was still connected to her via the essence she had stolen was still in the Weave's tapestry, though it could not show her where the creature had gone. Rubbing her aching temples, she reached and melded with Kyrr's mind, looking through the bird's eyes in the hope that she would be able to find the creature using physical means. At present however she wasn't having any luck, and searching like this was making a bad headache worse. With a little luck she would be able to find this vampire soon, and then there'd be only one more to go.
