It began slowly at first, a thin and hollowed sound, rasping from stone to stone as though sword was drawn from hardened sheith. Metallic whine seemed to glimmer, visable to the eye as it slid in serpantine circle, winding away and towards the darkness broken only by moonlight. One by one they came, dwindling into nothingness as moonglow lost its sway over them. A glint of red and something akin to a dragon turned to stare, trees seen behind it as though through a sheen of blood. Tongue flicked in smell... or perhaps anticipation might be a better term, no second snese was needed for this creature as he wound amongst silver threads less than half his size. For a moment all was red and silver, blood traced with mercury, poisoned. A gentle rasp sent air to quivering and dramaturgy ceased. The webbing had cracked but a little.
