It was all in the voice. It didn't matter whose soul inbabitated the body, nor their intentions, but it was a voice, something so simple, that commanded him. Even if his lady was possessed, it meant nothing as long as it was voice telling him what his next task was.

"My lady commands it to be, I shall obey."

Copper eyes slid to crimson, and he bounded into the shadows as he body melted to form, following the trail of the dark forgotten. Passenger in two, he would have two things to do, protect his lady, and rescue the captured shadow watcher.

It would be an easy task, lest one or both of the higher powers intervened.

A red scaled snake lifted its body from the leaves, positioned to strike, but was just watching instead. Its purple tongue darted out as it lowered back to the ground and slithered away. Its master would be pleased for such information.
