While not wishing to disclose my age - what I can say is that I am old enough to remember when Bristain rarely had an artistic gymnast qualify for the olympics which were dominated for years by Russia and the old eastern block.

What changed was lottery funding - suddenly huge amounts of cash was given to British gymnastics - having gymnasts with realistic medal prospects never mind actually winning is very new and it has only come about because of the cash- obviousy you have to have gymnasts with talent and dedication etc as well.

I felt very dpressed reading the article about Frankie and do hope that she makes it to the 2012 olympics - Given the amount of money given to British gymnastics you would hope that some can be found to support Frankie.

I dont know if there is any way all the clubs could get together to support her
