Mensah missing time was important, but he played 25 minutes, so he obviously didn't miss 20. In addition, didn't the announcers mention the injury when he returned to the game? Mensah missed two FT's with about 3 and a half minutes left. They said that he didn't look right at the line after the first one and talked about him leaving earlier with an unknown injury, possibly to his side.

It's interesting to see comments made about how when Mensah left, then Siena's fortunes turned.

If you look at the scoring activity, Mensah left with 2:23 left in the first half when Siena had only a 2 point lead (39-37. Then Siena ran off 10 straight points, again without Mensah (3 point shot for Fisher, 2 FT by Jordan, 3 pointer for Beers, and two FT for Fisher).

So if you want to state Mensah not being in there was the big reason Fairfield came back, then fine you can debate that. But it was an even game when he left, then the comment that Siena probably wins if Kojo doesn't go out is just not true. That's unfair, because he wasn't there when Siena went on the big run.

S Saint,

If your point is that the Fairfield radio announcers should have mentioned the injury, I agree (I didn't listen to the game on the radio, so I can't say if they did or didn't mention this).

I read more into your message than the omission of this from the announcers.... To be fair, injuries, suspensions and NCAA witch trials that kill recruiting are part of the game, we as Fairfield fans have lived with all of these over the last few years....

That said, if Mensah didn't get hurt, and Marty O'Sullivan didn't get hurt and Maxwell didn't get suspended Fairfield would have beat Siena by 20....
