Subject: Looking for student writers and a photographers

Hi! I am writing to see if there are any Fairfield students taking journalism and photography that might want to volunteer their services for our publications. This would help in building a resume for future employment and I would provide a great reference. We enjoy taking pictures at all of your basketball games but there is so much more going on either at your school, another local college or a high school. Congratulations on great pictures of the men and women at AHY. Hopefully, you will get some students to help out and get valuable experience. Have you ever tried to get your game pictures displayed on campus where the casual fan can see them? Maybe more pictures of students in the stands, Red Sea, band and cheerleaders might generate student interest?

Thanks for the input and I spoke with mu staff supervisor about what you mentioned as in regards to the photos. We have never been to the Fairfield campus so dispalying our shots is something we would not be able to do.

They offer a Sports Reporting course...

EN/W 322 Sports Reporting Student journalists learn how to capture the drama of sports events, on and off the field. They learn to write traditional game stories and profiles while strengthening skills in interviewing, writing under deadline pressure and analyzing statistics. But they also go beyond spot stories to explore and write about the bigger picture, newer issues, and the overall allure of sports. Prerequisite: News Writing or permission of instructor.
