One tip from Oprah:

If someone happens to abduct you, try to resist them. Do everything in your power to not let them take you to a second location. If you are taken from your seat and put in the trunk, in many cars you can kick out the backseat from the trunk and dupe your abductor.

Know Your Car.
If you're forced inside the trunk of your car, don't lose hope. It's a good idea to know where the emergency latch inside your trunk is (a mechanic can show you). If you can't find it, you can pull out the taillight wires to call attention to the vehicle, or bash out the taillight and wiggle your fingers.

Don't be Shy.
Some women have escaped carjackings when their assailants stopped at gas stations or other populated locations. If this happens, yell for help.

At the very minimum, keep a crowbar, pliers, wrench, flashlight, and/or screwdriver in the trunk of your car to pry open the latch or bang for help. (Blair had a highway emergency kit behind her head for most of the last three weeks)
