I'm trying to tell whethe the saga of Todd and Blair has been advanced in any way, shape, or form by the rape story, and, y'know? I don't know.
I thought maybe it had. I thought maybe Todd, at least, was growing (uh, back to where he was before he went to Ireland, but still, that's progress from where he was), but really - after yesterday - I'm not so sure. He still doesn't seem to get that it's not okay to tell whatever lie (or do whatever other horrible thing) will get Blair to be with him NOW, still doesn't seem to understand that (a) it's just wrong per se, and (b) there are ALWAYS bad consequences WHEN, not IF, she finds out. So, even if they were able to make it through this one, the next one would be the same fucking thing.
And Blair? Pffft. Zero growth. Maybe worse than zero, because not only is she still doing the bed hop be-bop among the good, the bad, and the ugly in town, but now, she too is out to put Todd in jail. She's Tea without the snot bubble (just an aside, here, but I've been seeing a LOT of snot bubbles on primetime shows, and I do not care how talented someone is - I don't want to see anything green come out of anyone). She's worse than Tea, because, as Malone and Griffith have been kind enough to show us, she knows on some level that Todd did not mean to rape her, would not have raped here, never had the criminal intent to commit that crime, and, therefore, is not guilty of it, even though it was a horrible experience for her.
This story is so much better than the fake bomb/punch/DID, BTW. It's a personal preference, but I'm glad we didn't see the "event." We're left to sort out others' interpretations of something we don't have personal knowledge of, and the writers are being gracious and helpful enough to show us what those different interpretations are. It beats (har har) being shown one thing and told another.
But I don't think it leaves Todd and Blair any farther down their path(s) than they were when they started.

Is anyone else out there having as much fun with Tracy as I am? "For God's sake, she's from Pine Valley!" It was one right after another. More Tracy and Skye, puhleeeeeze.
Did Sonny ever adopt Michael? Just exactly what is his claim to that kid now that he's given Bugwoman the boot? I'm having a really hard time sorting out this shit. Sonny sees Carly kissing Lorrrrrrenzohh, so he goes out and slamaramadingdongs Sam, and it's Carly's fault the marriage is over? What, did she forget to eat her brussel sprouts, too? And I know Carly's NOT good with infants, but I still don't see how it can be better for those kids to be with Sonny than with AJ (in Michael's case) or Carly (in Morgan's). Oh, yeah, and the pirate story is bogus bullshit. Even Luke can't save it.
More Tracy and Skye, pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaze.
