I must be fucking stupid, because I thought Jill Farren Phelps, Megan McTavish, Maurice Ben Nard, Tamara Braun, and Alicia Leigh Willis ALL should have been beaten with sticks for what they did last year. Instead, they get emmy nominations? WTF? GH as outstanding drama? In whose universe? Where's the fucking drama in trying to figure out how Sonny and Carly and Jason and Courtney are going to figure their way out of THIS week's conundrum? Was the wholesale trash and slash of Ric and Elizabeth (oh, sorry, I mean Carly's kidnapping) supposed to be dramatic? I thought it was silly. And pointless. And boring. Except when Faith was trying to poison Liz.
And Mayhem McCrackhead gets nominated for playing Let's Rape the Lesbian. Daring choice. Revolting, but I guess someone was impressed.
And the acting noms? The only comment decency permits is how did ALW get nominated as a "younger" actress? Does "younger" now mean - oh, crap, never mind. I won't go there.
I was glad to see NLG's name, but, um, was she on last year? I must have missed it.
Other well deserved nods - AMC for lighting. They're masters. Susan Lucci looks almost lifelife. OLTL for hair - it may not be my thing, but I always, er, NOTICE the hair. As in, pretty girl. What's up with the hair?
Tony Geary is my sentimental fave, but I kind of hope Howarth wins. JMO.
