The issue isn't whether Blair should be mad (she should) or try to get herself some payback (he's begging for it). The issue isn't whether the writers should be thinking ahead to the next umbrella story (I think they should). The issue is whether the story will be strong. I think strong characters and a well constructed plot make for strong stories. Weak, stupid characters stuck in contrived, improbable situations make for weak, stupid story-telling.
And it doesn't have to be that way. There's no law that says a story has to be as inane as possible to move from point A to point B. And when MM and JG are on their game, there's no one better. There's a lot to like on OLTL right now. Dorian and David, for one example. The MBK for another. Even Viki's been brought back from Blondie hell.
Why NOT give Blair a big bag of clues? In the last couple of years, she's been unable to count to three (we're talking trimesters, here, not months or weeks with Jack), she's been bamboozled with TWO identity scams (Jack and now Todd), and now she's going about her revenge as artlessly as possible. And to what end? Any that couldn't be reached along a more interesting road?
