First of all, I would like to thank Lafaux for her very detailed description of the Fan Luncheon. Reading it was almost as good as being there.

Second of all, I would like to refute dd's claim that she isn't that gorgeous. I've seen her pictures and she's a stunning woman.

Now, last, but NOT least. I think various CWTOCS dropped the ball on Max Holden. There was ONLY one of TWO ways to go with Max Holden. Either he should have been CLIFF BARNES ... IOW, Asa DID cheat Winthrop out of his legal shares of Buchanan Enterprises and Max SHOULD have been able to prove it, claim Wingate's inheritance and be a player at BE... or he should have been JR EWING. IOW, Max should have turned out to be a Buchanan after all. I always thought it was a damned shame that this didn't happen during the Buchie Brat Storyline. Because Max really showed his JR Potential back then.

A DELICIOUS twist would have been that Max WAS the missing brat AND that Ben Davidson had really been born MAX HOLDEN. OLTL has been NOTORIOUS for Baby-Switching, because some of their best storylines have come out of baby switching. Remember when KAREN WOLEK switched Katrina Carr's live baby with her sister Jenny's dead baby? Remember when GABRIELLE MEDINA switched Brenda's live baby for MICHAEL GRANDE's dead baby? Ben Davidson should have been the REAL Max Holden. He was a lot like Winthrop Holden in temperament. A dour, uncompromising man where his values and integrity was concerned. Max really does resemble Asa more in temperament. And making Ben the REAL Holden would have spared us the Ick Factor of Viki doing BROTHERS. I hate when soaps get THAT incestuous.

However, all they could do was have Max start up and shut down various businesses and romance various vixens. He was little more than a coat rack or purse holder. A glorified GIGOLO, if you will. And it's a damn shame, because he could have been so much more than THAT.
