• He'd been sitting on the couch, drowning himself in his sorrows once more, sulking because Kendal wasn't around ... and then Elise had stormed in, slaming the door behind her with enough force to almost break it off its hinges. He frowned a touch, setting his bag of potato chips down on the floor before wandering cautiously down the hallway to the girls bedroom, his lips pursing a little as he knocked lightly on the door, his other hand moving tentatively to the handle to see if the door had been locked "Elise ..?" • As his hand turned the handle the latch clicked open and his brow furrowed in concern as he saw her curled up on her bed trying to control her tears. But her heart was shattered, for the first time she'd let it open up. She had been a fool... she should never have gotten involved... he'd told her right at the start he didn;t want a relationship, and she had shared his feelings then... but then everything got turned upside down. She didn;t want to be hidden as much as he didn;t want to hide her... but if it was that or this, she new which she would rather. • She was suprisingly receptive to affection when she was scared or hurt or upset, as Logan well knew... but it was his arms, not Adams, that she longed for.
