Subject: More on Children...

Obviously we've talked a lot about children throughout our lectures on mimetic theory, and last time Dr. Jackson brought up the idea that children often act certain ways or say certain things about themselves because they actually see/hear it in their parents. It got me thinking about when I was a kid (and I dont know if this is just in my experience or what not) but all I can remember is that when you were a kid, a lot of times you would make claims but you always insisted on saying "well my mom/dad said this..." even if they didnt say that. It could just be a sort of higher authority thing, but almost all the time a child presents factual information, even if they did not get it from the parents, it seems like the child feels more truthful through saying that the information is simply being echoed in his/her mouth. It was just something that kind of caught my attention when I thought about it
