I would hardly charcterize Americans like Homer.

I didn't want to offend Americans. But in the cartoons, Homer always watches Fox TV. I don't know about Fox TV, but I do know the German Bild newspapers.

There are certainly Homer-like people in America, as they are in Germany. Fortunately, the Flanders-like Americans seem to be in the majority.
