Are you suggesting that there would be anything wrong with a lesbian elder?

I'd guess so, there's numerous references in the Scriptures making clear that homosexuality is not an acceptible condition for Christians (though in the world, it's normal and God lets it happen) and if someone is alienated from God through their sexuality, how can they be leaders in the church?

Again, here kicks the principle of Christ and the church: could you imagine the Bride of Christ loving another "woman", instead of Christ? Could you imagine Christ loving another "man", not the Church?

Interestingly enough, Junia is a woman's name and appears in the earlier versions of Scripture. Over the ages people who were uncomfortable with the position of women in leadership changed it to read "Junias," which is a man's name.
Further research on that subject revealed to me that the Greek original makes it unclear whether this is a man's or a woman's name, as such it is moot to take the stand for one side and say "it must be like this and everyone who says differently is a populist".
Let's keep it as Schrödinger's cat?
In this matter, I'm sorry, but I would rather not touch something where the Scriptures are vague upon in order to justify any school of thought.

Just a short, sorry I don't have time to reply to everything you said, but I'll get back.

In Christ,
Mike K.
