You are on very shaky ground there Mike, and since we are touching on another topic, I plan to take this issue up in a thread of its own.

First, you are using Scripture out of context. The analogy you are talking about has nothing to do with the issue of sexual orientation. Secondly, yes I can imagine the Bride of Christ loving a "woman." Certainly I can imagine Christ loving another "man." The Body of Christ and Christ himself do not base their love on gender.

Your research must have been lacking. John Chrysostom, Origen, Jerome, and every Bible commentator until the 12th century took Junia to be a feminine name. “The case for reading the female name Junia rather than the male name Junias in Romans 16:7 has been made adequately in scholarship since the 1970's and has been widely accepted, while the REB and NRSV are, I believe, the first English translations to place 'Junia' in the text and to relegate 'Junias' to a footnote. The history of the matter is a sad story of prejudice making bad translation.” This information and quote comes from GOSPEL WOMEN by Bauckham.
