The curse words are 'bleeped' and the nudity is 'blurred'. Nevertheless the show is very disgusting and appeals to the worst in human nature. I don't know if Germany has shows like this but I consider it a shameful part of American pop culture.

Jerry Springer is not shown in the German TV, but the private channels have copied the format of these "talk shows", so we can see a lot of probably similar trash in Germany, though probably not so extreme.

Jerry Springer is indeed no honourable page of the democratic party and I start to understand why voting for democrats is not considered an alternative to voting for Bush in America. But you know my opinion that it would not make Bush and the republicans any better automatically.

One interesting ovservation is the difference how nuditiy and obscenity is handled in the US: It is bleeped and blurred away. In Europe it is different. Bleeping and blurring would be considered as censoring or paternalism. Either the show is not shown at all, or the secenes are completely cut away, or it is shown including all vulgarity without bleeping and blurring.

I suppose that in England, they do not bleep and blur either. So maybe the version that is shown in the UK is worse than in the US.

By the way, this bleeping and blurring in the US TV is not considered as something moralically superior here in Europe. Instead, we think it is a typical sign of American bigotry, i.e. fundametalistic hypocrisy, which is the main association which Europeans - and muslims! - have when they think of American Christianity.
