only one blonde stuck out to me....the rest were dark haired....few pretty brunettes..one brunette was tall and beautiful with long hair--let's see if she's animated onstage...but nj hasn't had a blonde rep in a long time...i think it's time

NJ never gets it right--- and all those brunettes and ethnic girls have been chosen in the past few years...miss usa was a latina in 2003-Susie Castillo- so if new jersey is smart they'll pick light haired brunette or blond

They picked a blonde girl last year for miss usa last year...chances of nj sending a blond girl when one just won is pretty slim, especially since the next miss usa is bound to be a brunette

First things first, New Jersey has sent strong competition definitely in the last two years. Would you like the NJ system to be unfair like Miss USA? NJ picks the best candidates to be in the top 15, miss USA picks for marketing. I don't think Janaye would have won Miss USA this year, but I definitely think she should have been in the top 15. A lot of people at Miss U thought she was in there. Same thing with Vanessa. So before you say NJ never gets it right, maybe you should think about if you want it fair or if you want someone hand picked.

Second, Jessica Pezzota is the sister of Jackie Pezzotta who was Teen NJ last year. And I think the other girl is Jessica Boyington. I don't know who is competition. Face wise there were a few, walk wise, there were a few, but we will definitely see who comes ready for pageant weekend.

I really hope that they pick a shorter girl for miss nj teen usa this year because in teh past they have all been really tall, but when it came time for miss teen usa...there were a few short girls in the top 5...at least for teh past couple of years...crossing my fingers for this time!

The people to watch out for are Atiya Easterling,Jessica Spat, Christina Velasquez, Janice something and there might be a strong contender making a surprise comeback. But you'll have to wait until pageant weekend to see.

Half the time, no one even knows who will compete in New Jersey. The girls come to pageant weekend and they aren't prepared. They look a mess at practice, they pick gowns that they wore to their prom, they don't know how to walk, they aren't in shape, it's ridiculous. If New Jersey ever wants to be looked at as a contender at Miss USA, the competition needs to get with it. The girls they end up picking are contenders at Miss USA, but each year, there is like 15 girls who are actually serious about the state pageant. Please, if you read this and you are competing, Step it up! When you look at other states like Texas, Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, south Carolina - those girls compete. They come with their A game, like they are going to Miss USA. Girls in NJ just come. They don't bring it like other states. If you are competing and you don't know how to walk on the stage, learn. Find a walking coach, find a fitness trainer, find an interview coach. Don't come to the state pageant unprepared thinking you will win. Don't wear your slippers and pajamas to practice - come to practice ready to psyche out your competition, wear something stylish. If you compete next year, go to a photographer and get a real head shot, stop sending these photos that your grandma took. Get serious about this competition. If this were miss Texas or Miss USA, half of these girls would get laughed off the stage. Please, Come with it!
