.. After the rather rude reception by Kyan and Koen, the master of the household was far from a good mood. And that mood was not enhanced by the presence of some stranger in his courtyard, especially considering said stranger wasn't of his own species, though the taint of magic energies was about him.
Eyes narrowed, flesh stained in life having just fed from Koen, Dorjan moved towards the intruder with the typical cat-like grace that encompassed his own lineage.
"And who might you be?" There was no compassion in his voice, not even the standard heat of a living being behind it. ..

*Sorry been away*
Startled by the unexpected arrival of the male Phoenix spun, heart pounding in his chest. Shite, this was not his day. First he ends up not knowing where he was, and then he gets caught by a vampire. ah, hell. there was no way that his day could get any worse... right? Finally regaining the ability to speak he decided it would be best to answer the question he was asked. "Phoenix," he managed to get out, though it sounded meeker than he would have liked. Carefully he edged away from the vampire, though hopefully it was slowly enough that the other would not notice. If he got out of this with his skin intact he'd never leave his home again... maybe.

.. He could feel the heartbeat rise, and hear the creak and squish of muscles as he tried to slip away. So much for going away unnoticed. The quiet response to his own demand - although entertaining - simply soured his mood. Whoever it was, he knew he had done something wrong and shouldn't be here. And now Dorjan wanted to know just why he had been here and why it was he expected to simply be able to walk off so easily. It was still his mansion, afterall, despite its... present state of disarray.
"Where is it that you think you're going, Pheonix?" He moved forward, attemption to close the distance between himself and the other one. A slightly malicious smirk was on his face now, and he seemed to have found a channel for his anger. "And why is it that you would intrude on someone's house and then run away without even an apology?" ..

Eyes widening a fraction more Phoenix mentally berated himself for even hoping to quitely disappear, 'Hullo, the guy is a vampire. Supernatural hearing ring any bells?' Why his mental voice sounded like a less than friendly acquaintance he had no idea. He backed up a few more steps when the other approached, and pondered the question silently. Which demanded a diplomatic answer, so he quelled the slightly smart assed remark of 'The Fifth Circle of Hades,'to search for an answer that did not invoke an overly violent reaction from the male. Though he suspected that anything he said wasn't going to be met favorably at this time. "Actually I was going to find an exit and go home, but since you're here if you'd just show me the door 'd appreciate it", okay so maybe that came out a little oddly, but he'd done his best.
Tilting his head to the side slightly he regarded the vampire and mulled over his other question. "Sorry? I just have this pesky flight instinct when it comes to confrontation, must come from being named after a bird", he replied then silently cursed his inability to keep his more sarcastic side in check. Flinching minutely he backed up even more, eyes darting about in hopes of finding an escape.

.. As the other backed away, Dorjan continued his own approach. Partially, perhaps, invited by the prey response of the young man. It wasn't any fun to chase something that wasn't running, afterall. The delay in Pheonix's response could perhaps be attributed to the other thinking, or on the other hand he was simply too frightened to think straight. At the very least, to the man's credit, his response when finally given wasn't shaking and stammered.
"Doors tend to be harder to find once you're inside." As he spoke, a wicked grin slid into place on his face that turned the corners of his mouth enough to display his fang tips over his lips. It was a vicious gesture, and something purely predatory.
"A flaming bird, too." Oh dear, and now he's resorted to dirty, bad jokes. This certainly can't be going in a good direction. ..

Why did things like this always happen to him? First it was being chased by a cat shifter, then he spent a couple of days playing hide and seek with a werewolf. And now he had a vampire stalking him. 'Do I have some sort of sign that says come harass me?' the young mage moaned silently to himself as he continued to back up. Although he knew it wasn't possible to chase someone if they didn't run, that did very little in making his feet stand still.
"Ya know, that's odd 'cause I've always found that doors are easier to find from the inside than the outside," Phoenix commented with a faked calm, his backwards steps hurrying in their pace a bit at the decidedly not good look on the other's face. An eyebrow raised at the bad joke, and he cocked his head to the side slightly. Caught off guard at its' sudden appreance before he decided it was a bad thing and backed even faster.

.. Dorjan couldn't help but chuckle at the retreating mage. Sometimes it was just too easy to go hunting, but at the very least this one was mildly entertaining. Entertainig enough that he didn't exactly want to simply throw him out or drain him dry. That defeated the opportunity to have any fun with him, afterall. As Pheonix retreated, the vampire followed with easy, purpose-filled steps. He knew exactly what he was doing - or at the very least looked like he did.
"Then it's just different around here." His voice slinked out in response to the young man's comment, dripping with too much honey to possibly be good. The smirk on his face broadened at the small reaction from the other to his comment - confusion almost always led to a misstep, and that was pure entertainment of course.
"You still haven't explained why it is that you keep trying to leave so soon. Why the sudden rush to get out when we've just met?" ..

*OOC: Apologies for being so late. being in school bites*
Phoenix's eyes darted about in a last scan for a quick escape before settling on the approaching vampire once more. Dammit, he really didn't like the way things were looking for him, seeing as the other male seemed to know what he was doing while Phoenix didn't have a clue. "That must be a real pain... having the door hard to find from the inside. How in the world do you people get out to mingle with everyone else?" Despite his anxiety he managed to make his tone sound casually flippant.
Eyes widening a fraction at the question Phoenix desperately searched his mind for an answer that was relatively harmless...for himself that was.
"I don't mean to sound rude or anything but, I have bananna bread in the oven back home, and as we just met I see no real reason to let it burn my apartment down. Not that your company isn't fasinating." Great he was babbling already. He cringed at that thought and contemplated darting around the vampire, taking a tentative step to the right.

((I'm sorry I can't access the file right now to put up the layout for this post. And don't worry about late posting, I'm having the same troubles as you.))
The insecurities of the other were things that Dorjan could feed on fairly easily. If someone believed they were stuck in a situation, they would usually make it so they were even if they truly weren't. Lack of self-confidence could certainly be a bitch at times, as was panicking. And from the stream of babble coming out of this one's mouth, it seemed like he was most likely on the path of both of those things.
Dorjan quirked an eyebrow towards Pheonix, the sickening smile still on his face. "Somehow, you seem to me the type to not bake. As well as the type to not even have a home to go back to in the first place." Daring of him, to make an assumption like that. But why on earth would anyone be in this place for another reason? It wasn't as if he reeked of hunters or anything either. Desperation served its means to an end, but was it really Pheonix's motivation? Ah well, everyone can be wrong at times.

Not exactly lacking self confidence, but more cautious when it came to other species or other mages Phoenix struggled to get his recently acquired impluse to babble under control. Crimson optics narrowed slightly, he hated it when people automatically asumed things about him....even if they were mostly correct. He had a home, a couple of them actually...or at least until he couldn't pay the rent. He had also baked, a requirement for someone who had done all house chores for his cousin.
"Mmhm, that's rather rude of you to make judgement calls when we just met," the mage managed to keep the slightly mocking tone out of his words, barely. Sighing deeply he decided that he might as well think over a new excuse as his other one wasn't working out so well. Why had he decided to move from Canada anyways? Ah yes, he had objected to being a Soul Mage's pet. Stupid pride. "Ya know, I don't believe I ever caught your name," he drawled as an after thought, keeping up the appreance of being calmly collected when he was everything but.

((And I think I might have left the file for my codes at home. -.-' ))
The small gesture alerted Dorjan to the fact that perhaps he had hit the nail right on the head, so to speak, in the case of this young man. Usually one only got ruffled about something if it was too close to home to simply brush off. But, of course, this Pheonix was also young and the young tended to enjoy being angry about everything in general. Well... one didn't always have to be young to be mad about everything in general. Then again, Dorjan was 21 when he had been turned by his creator.
The vampire chuckled at the words that first left his mouth, shaking his head slightly. Rude, indeed. "My name, boy, is less important to you than my title. Which is even less important if you understand what I am, and in which case my place in society would be more important to you." He extended a pale hand in greeting, bowing his head slightly. "Lord Dorjan, son of Cale." Yes, he was testing this one to see if he knew of that line, of the direct line that Cale was the first holder in. Of course, there were few and far between that knew that little bit of juicy information, and a far cry more that simply knew Dorjan for his breeding achievements with slaves that mysteriously stopped less than a hundred years ago.

OOC:sorry Phoenix refused to cooperate...which is also why I blame him for this*
A slender red brow arched upwards and the chin tilted thoughtfully to the side, much like a bird examining something that it wasn't quite sure what to make of, while his proverbial feathers rankled at being called "boy." Honestly some creatures made it a habit of trying to get under his skin. "Okay, you're a vampire, got that. And your name's Dorjan, got that also; However your have completely lost me with that last bit," Phoenix managed to make his being lost sound like Dorjan's fault and be exteremely insolent at the same time. Sure he knew a couple of vampire lines, but for the most part he only knew the newer lines and younger vampires.
"Now is being lost simply a lack of knowledge on my part, or do you do that on purpose?" Since he had not yet been pounced upon Phoenix gained a little confiedence back, and decided to poke about with sharp sticks. More than likely a mistake on his part.

(( lol! It's perfectly alright, I'm bogged by things at the moment anyways. But it's still great to come back and be like 'I wanna RP' and viola! there's a post. XP *shouldn't be up this late... does things to the mind* ))
Dorjan's smirk spread across his face, deepening into the corners of his mouth and stretching his lips back to further reveal his fangs. Oh, what fun this was going to continue to be. He continued to press in on Pheonix's space if the other didn't continue to dodge and duck around his forward motions. The vampire chuckled, shaking his head slightly. "It's not something that the average vampire even knows. Let's just simply say that I'm probably older than anyone you've ever met before." His toothy smile was brilliant in the moonlight, and to one who could be enamored by the morbidity of the situation (or perhaps the dark, gothic, romanticism), would find him to be, perhaps, the epitome of the gothic hero. Only without the hero part.
He reached a pale hand out toward Pheonix, making a move to grasp him by the chin to keep his eyes on him this time. If the other moved, then he would simply let the hand drop and continue pressing forward. "It's so easy to confuse those with simple minds." If he wasn't talking down to the man, then he couldn't be praising him.

((ooc: wouldn't know anything about staying up late...*smirk*))
Phoenix's lips curled into a silent snarl at the smirk. He really detested being called simple as well. "I wouldn't necessarily agree with that my Lord, after all those who believe they possess clever minds often are mistaken, and therefore easily confused," if honey could blend perfectly with acid it still would be a poor comparison to the tone of his voice as he uttered those words. He hated anyone with a positiobn of any sort of power, be it over him or anything in general. But life as a street rat and former pet had that effect on a person. There wa also the fact that he was still a teenager, and had a tendency towards oppositional defiance.
Startled slightly by the motion the other made he automatically snapped at the hand before dancing backwards again, careful to keep out of the vampire's reach. "Ah, ah, no touchy," he tsked mockingly, only the slightlest of smirks softening his snarl. He really didn't like physical contact, be it with the living or the Undead... though to be perfectly fair the Undead had the more dangerous touch. The living were limited in how strong and fast they were a rather annoying fact that he was stuck with...Poor him.

((I swear I'm having issues with this whole balancing work crap. ^.^; So sorry, again, for the delay. *sigh* I'd so prefer to be rping than trapped under homework...))
The other's outburst, which manifested in the curling of his lips in a rather beastial manner, was unexpected. Thusfar he'd shown fear, and a little capacity towards inpredictability as was usual, but the aggression that was there - now that was fun. The tone and the syllabic stresses that followed were equally enjoyable. This one could perhaps fall very hard into his own mistakes and assumptions, which made things all the more entertaining. But if he got so riled up as to not think straight, well, sometimes that could be troublesome.
The obvious distaste towards being touched only caused Dorjan to want to push those buttons all the more. He continued his approach on Pheonix, smirk still present. "Only a fool would waver between rationality, comedy, and sheer stupidity." He was, of course, commenting on Pheonix's displayed behavior thusfar. The other was a little tipsy in his emotions it seemed.

OOC: Yikes! Yeah I know how hard it is to balance work and all *eyes the steadily growing pile of homework scattered over desk* As for this...I refuse to take responsibility. I swear Phoenix took over my keyboard...
Okay, that was it, Phoenix could feel what little control he had over his swiftly changing mood swings quickly snap. He cocked an eyebrow up in mock concern and allowed a taunting smirk to cross his lips. "Is that so?" He murmured to the comment looking over at Dorjan with false pity. One could only push the hot tempered teen so far before would snap and say something truly regretful. He'd managed to keep his tongue relatively in check thus far; however, the other had prodded him to the point of no return, into a proverbial corner no less, and his every instinct was to lash out. "Does that not make you a fool as well My Lord?" Again he put a mocking emphasis on the title, crimson eyes flashing with angry imperinence.
Almost at once he bit down on his tongue and shook his head as though to clear it, before quickly backing up further and bumping into a tree. 'Shit, shit, shit! You idiot! Do you have a bloody death wish?!' The more sensible part of his brain demanded, figuratively beating him about the head. Phoenix focused his attention back to the more than likely pissed off vampire, "Ah, Shit," he cursed aloud without reallty thinking...again.

((*ignores reading assignment and lab preparation while kicking books under bed* Nope, nope, not at all. Dunno what you're talking about. XP ))
It almost appeared at first that the vampire had either not heard what it was that the mage had said, or simply wasn't paying attention to him to hear it. However, once Pheonix's back was to the tree, the smirk on Dorjan's face twisted entirely too far up, parting his top and bottom lips in the process enough to flash a pointed, elongated canine in a poisonous manner.
He moved then, a leisurely pace for a vampire that could have appeared to a human to be a blur, or even as if he had simply not been where he was, attempting to close the distance between himself and Pheonix while using the tree as a leverage point. He raised a hand to try and pin it between Pheonix's shoulder and head, resting on the rough bark of the tree while his other hand dropped down to rest on a lower part of the tree, nearer Pheonix's waist if the mage didn't manage to squirm away in time.
"I think you're only making a greater fool of yourself, my little flaming bird." There was far too much fang showing even in his speech in comparison to the rather reserved motions from before. There could be little doubt that he wasn't happy.

((OOC: *lights pile of homework on fire* There all done))
Phoenix blinked for half a second, he could swear it hadn't been any longer than that. So how the hell was the vampire suddenly in his face, he was usually more observent than this. "Uhhh, yeah major bubble invasion... do you mind backing up a bit?" he managed to get out without squeaking, though his voice wanted very much to curl up in some tiny little corner and hide until this was all over. besides where the hells had that come from in the first place?
Despite the amount of fang displayed by the irate Dorjan Phoenix couldn't help but bristle a little bit. "I am not flaming, and I am most certainly not yours!" he snarled with little to no regard of his health. He hated any one referring even slightly possessively to him, even if it was more mocking than anything else, and so his mouth ran ahead of his brain, not that his brain was being much help at this point and time. Honestly it sucked to be so hot headed all the time.

((Small is not a problem there. XP Trust me, that's not small at all.))
.. He chuckled at the mention of 'invasion' by his prey - ironic that he would point that out when his mere presence here was invasion. Of course, Dorjan was certain that he was enjoying both of these invasions far more than the mage was. His smile twisted further, cementing itself to a writhing mass of mischief in his black eyes. It was only spurred on by the small squeak.
The outburst wasn't entirely expected, though he had certainly seen how much the other's anger got away from him at times. The smile remained on the vampire's face, almost as if he hadn't heard the words or seen the anger that had appeared in the young man. In less than the span it took for a human heart to pulse, Dorjan had moved to try and shift his hands from the tree to the mage; right hand on the waist and the left on the shoulder as he leaned forward.
"Mine indeed," it was half-whispered as he stooped over the other. His clear intent being to use the mage for a small snack right about now. And afterwards, well, certainly there wouldn't be a positive light for the mage for an afterwards. ..
