Como RUBIN salienta, auto-gerenciamento de aprendizagem e aprendizagem autônoma não significam a mesma coisa, apesar de partilharem conceitos e idéias (RUBIN, s.d., p.5, § 1). Lembro-lhe que "the self-managed learner does not necessarily find working alone the most effective way to achieve his or her needs and purposes" (DAM et alii, 1990; PRESLEY, 1995, apud RUBIN, s.d., p.5, §1). Assim sendo, o(a) aprendiz pode recorrer a alguém para fazer a correção de seu texto ou pode, ainda (se preferir trabalhar sozinho), recorrer a um corretor de gramática e ortografia disponível em um editor de texto (computador), por exemplo, apesar do risco que isso implica (os softwares disponíveis ainda deixam a desejar).
