Não sei se há tanto repúdio, a não ser aquele manifestado por esquerdistas e inconformados(as) de plantão, cuja repulsa às vezes é de caráter apenas discursivo, rebeldia sem causa que está na moda aqui e alhures, até porque o Inglês não é idioma pátrio apenas nos EUA.

Gostei de sua observação quanto ao "abraço" (vínculo) cultural ou à aceitação da existência e da influência da cultura do país da língua-alvo na construção do idioma. A propósito dela, talvez valha a pena relermos DICKINSON (1995, p.168, §1): "AN (1988, p.75) quotes Gardner asserting that 'The learning of a second (or foreign) language in the school situation is often viewed as an educational phenomenon... such a perception is categorically wrong...' in that it demands the acquisition of 'symbolic elements of a different ethnolinguistic community".
