Subject: Did anybody else who saw The Departed not like it?

We were so disappointed that we missed The Departed in theatres, but after renting it last night, we were THRILLED not to have paid $17.00 to see it. I thought Jack Nicholson and Leonardo DiCaprio both did an outstanding job of acting, but I thought the movie was a big fat stinker overall. I hate that. Honestly, was the special effects department SO excited that they were able to do such a good job of execution-style shooting in the head that they felt compelled to use it 50 times in 2 hours and 30 minutes? (felt like 4 hours)

After all the hype, I just wonder if anybody else didn't like it, or if it's just me.
