I'm no expert by any means, but I do grill a lot. We try to avoid it in the summer because it's 100 degrees tied with 85% humidity and that makes grilling NOT a fun activity!!! If it is really hot when I fire up the grill, I make sure I have on my swim suit so I can plunk my sweaty self in the pool if I need to cool off :)

My favorite bbq sauce is called Texas A&M bbq sauce, but the last time I went to get it at Kroger it wasn't there. I was bummed. My next favorite is Stubbs and I think you can find that anywhere. There's more than one variety to appeal to different tastes.

In Texas it's called Beer Butt chicken. I have made that, although not on the grill. I have a clay pan/thing that you pour the beer into and set the chicken up on the middle bit. It's good. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say it's "all that", but it's good. I think I like injecting chickens with seasoned butter and using my rotisserie.

The thing I took too long to learn? SPRAY PAM ON THE GRILL BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR MEAT ON IT. I'm glad I finally figured that out.

I recently bought a grill pan (with holes) for grilling shrimp or veggies. Works like a charm. Also, grilling corn on the grill is amazing.

Another important thing to know: If you use wooden skewers for shishkabob, soak them long enough in water first! Another lesson learned the hard way. lol

If you don't want to use wood planks to grill salmon (or any fish I suppose), make sure one side of the fish has the skin on. Sear the other side first, then flip it and leave it on the skin side down... doesn't matter if the skin chars, it'll peel right off.

Turkey burgers using regular ground turkey and not the lower fat variety, are great. I prefer them to regular hamburgers... and I love hamburgers.

Marinating in soy sauce eliminates the need for salt.
Marinating in Teriyaki sauce makes things taste yummy.

And that's about all I can think of. I almost never use recipes. I'm one to just make it up as I go along. Fortunately, it usually works!

Foodnetwork.com has some good recipes, although I've never checked out any for the grill. Perhaps I'll have a look.

HAPPY GRILLING!!!
