NOW I remember where I heard spotted dick before -- I gave my dad a cookbook based on Patrick O'Brien's Jack Aubrey novels several years ago and that was in there along with drowned baby, soused hog's face, and other really yummy-sounding stuff.

Here's what I'm bringing tonight with the movie reference(s):

Tic Tacs
Juno: (storyline)
Atonement: Candy Marlowe, crowd second assistant director; Christopher Sweet: studio assistant: Double Negative

Bread & dipping oil + parmesan
Juno: (quotes)
There Will Be Blood: Upton Sinclair novel, "Oil!"; quote from Plainview: Let's talk about bread. Now to my mind, it’s an abomination to consider that any man, woman, or child in this magnificent country of ours should have to look upon a loaf of bread as a luxury.

Pellegrino
Juno: (quote) Vanessa Loring: Oh, I thought I would get some drinks. What would anyone like? I have Pellegrino, or Vitamin Water or Orange Juice or...
Michael Clayton: Susan Pellegrino, secretary
No Country for Old Men: Eduardo Antonio Garcia (cast), “Agua” Man

For all food and beverages (not just mine)
Juno: Margaret Yen, music supervisor

It's not that exciting so I'm hoping to make up for the dullness by the more inventive references like "second assistant crowd director." I doubt Candy will be on the red carpet tonight, but we’ll be celebrating her hard work. ;)
