I have a very smart Jack Russell terrier, although he's never played a practical joke. LOL He knows the difference between his blue toy and his red toy and gets the right one when asked. He knows the difference between toy and ball also. He adores anything round.

Now my miniature dachshunds are VERY cute, but I'm not sure exactly how bright they are. They are very stubborn, though. The boy mini doxie likes to torment the Jack Russel. He is not one bit afraid of the Jack Russell and will snatch a ball away from him and the Jack Russell just sits there looking forlorn and would never ever take it back. So I have to get it back for him.

Is it possible to share the alpha dog role? I am often confused as to which of them thinks they're the boss. The both seem to relinquish the role in certain situations.
