The "liberal bias" thing is total BS. The reality is that the vast majority of media outlets subscribe to the principles of journalistic integrity, and because they choose not to devote "equal time" between well-researched, unbiased positions and kooky fundamentalist wacko positions, they get labeled as liberal.

And you'd be surprised how many people's first impressions are developed by the right-wing media. These days, with the abundance of cable networks, it's easy for people to shelter themselves with biased media sources that reinforce their opinions rather than report objectively. Either they her talking points ad nauseum directly from the sources, or they hear them repeated in their households by their parents.

In my experience, when people say something general about a politician, like "Kerry's a flip-flopper" or "Rudy Giuliani was a great leader during 9/11," those same people are unable to identify anything substantive to support that position when questioned further. To me, that smacks of talking-point residual effect. Unfortunately, Democrats really, really suck at talking-point organization, so they rarely benefit from it.

And I do think there are lots of people who will vote against Hillary for being a woman, but I also think there are lots who will vote for her for the same reason.
