This is a "misleading application" which is known to Symantec and the other anti-virus entities. This page: http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2007-101013-0757-99&tabid=3
tells how to fix it, but I don't trust myself, so I'll save it to show to my son-in-law.
