It has absolutely nothing to do with his smugness. It has EVERYTHING to do with the fact that he's never said anything funny.

I actually watched about 20-30 minutes of his HBO special when it first came out, as I love watching comics. It was the most painful thing I've ever watched. I didn't laugh once. Not even an inkling of a chuckle. What got me, though, was that the audience (average age of 17) were laughing at every syllable. I kept thinking "What in the hell are they laughing at?" It wasn't a matter of differing senses of humor. There wasn't anything funny to be interpreted differently by differing senses of humor. The Ike Barinholtz parody was dead on perfect. Those were the type of "jokes" that he told in his act.


I like Patton Oswalt. I don't know who Brian Posehn is, and I only remember seeing Hedberg once.
