Just an FYI for those of you who hate me (and all Republicans) because we have differing opinions.


Iraq - I favor a timetable for withdrawal of troops. It's time to get out, but I don't think immediate abandonment is the proper thing to do. - Important

Immigration - I favor tightening the security ASAP and finding a path to citizenship for those already here. Set a date though, where after that date illegal immigrants are returned to their country. - Important

Taxes - Permanent - I'm ALWAYS in favor of tax cuts. There's WAY, WAY, WAY too much government wasted spending. Actually, I'm a proponent of the flat tax. 15% across the board, with no deductions, tax breaks, etc. - Very important

Stem Cell Research - I favor it strongly. If it can help to discover cures/treatments/solutions for health problems, then let's explore it. - Important

Universal Health Care - Opposed. I don't think it would work well here. It would become even more difficult to get an appointment with a doctor than it is now. - Somewhat important

Abortion - To me, this shouldn't be a political issue, other than for it to be legalized. If it's made illegal, then the conditions in which it would be done (and it would still be done) would deteriorate. Personally, I oppose abortion, but favor legalization of it. - Not important

Partial Privatization of Social Security - Favor. Government shouldn't be responsible for my retirement. I should. - Important

Line Item Veto - Favor. I don't understand why ANYONE would oppose this. Too many of the wasteful spending bills get passed by attaching them to something with overwhelming support. - Important

Alternative Fuel Research - Favor. Why not? Again, I don't understand why anyone would oppose this. - Somewhat important

Marriage as man/woman only - Oppose. While I am somewhat homophobic, who am I to tell someone else who they can or cannot marry? - Not important

Death Penalty for certain crimes - Favor. Not important.
