Subject: This is so bogus.

My satellite box, same one we've had for years, died today. So, I called Directv, and after putting me through all the rigamarole to determine that it was indeed dead, I ordered a new box. The bogus part is that I have to pay shipping and handling and tax ($22) for the new box, which I am essentially renting from them. They apparently cannot absorb this cost out of the exobitant fees I have paid them over the years. (Now $65 per month, and my only premium is HBO.) Gangsters, they are.

The new one won't arrive till Tuesday, and in a stunning example of the irony that is my life, of the four shows I watch each week, three are on Sunday and Monday.

/lynx considers going to a hotel.

/lynx remembers when TV was free, but there were only 3 channels.
