I'm kind of torn on that subject. I think yes to satisfy the curiosity of all America as to wtf was up with this guy, but to give him all the attention and make a name for himself was bad.

I read somewhere that some people think it will inspire others to copy what Cho did. The more I think about it, that might be true... so then I start to think maybe the whole story shouldn't have been on the news. Did it really improve my life or protect it to learn that 32 people were shot in Virginia? No... it probably made some companies a little richer, some people a little sadder, and at the same time informed more people that there are some real sickos being born into this world.

That being said, it still doesn't have enough impact to make uneducated, immature people (teenagers and adults), who are normally the ones who breed troubled children, to think twice about what they're doing, and to think about how important their parenting skills are. I'm not saying this guy's parents had bad parenting skills because I don't know if that's the case, but I don't think airing the story really had a positive effect on the world. I don't see anything other than the equivalent of slowing down to look at an accident coming from airing this story... the same goes for almost every story on the news. I guess that's why I just don't watch TV much anymore.
