「長毛」成功在新界東高票當選，連日來不少報章評論，都紛紛研究長毛當選的原因、意義等，出現了一種「長毛現象」（Phenomenon of Long Hair ）。關於長毛現象，我認為最少有以下幾個影響。

首先，長毛當選可以創造一個極具意義的歷史畫面，就是一個曾經焚燒國旗、基本法的示威人士，終於「回頭是岸」在立法會內宣誓效忠香港特區和擁護《基本法》，這全靠人民的力量。

其次，立法會應考慮向負責多年立法會秩序的保安員發放一次過的「特別補償金」及開辦有關心理健康的「再培訓課程」。因為立法會保安員多年來為維持立法會秩序，已經培養出「一見長毛，馬上戒備」的專業態度。但今天長毛貴為尊貴的議員（The Honourable ），立法會保安員的心理和態度要作一百八十度大轉變，由以往攔截長毛衝擊，改為替尊貴的長毛開門；由以往嚴密監視在觀眾席的長毛，改為替坐在議員席的長毛添水。要在短期內作出這些大轉變並叉易，希望有關方面密切留意保安員的心理健康。

保安局局長日前表示警方將會與新一屆立法會討論立法會的保安問題，我建議立法會成立「提升立法會保安措施工作小組」，並由長毛擔任主席。憑長毛的經驗，我相信一定可以令立法會平平安安，不會發生英國下議院被滋擾事件。

另外，長毛是新界東選區內花費開支最少、推出最少競選廣告的候選人，但長毛卻可取得六萬多票，比起選舉工程龐大的田北俊只是少八千票。由此反映，香港市民並不注重包裝、宣傳。

長毛在選舉論壇上引經據典，在當選後接受西方記者訪問，亦能說出流利英語。長毛雖只是中學畢業，但表現絕不遜於很多大學生。特區政府可以考慮以後邀請尊貴的長毛宣傳「終生學習、持續進修」呢！
