(The past couple weeks had put Evelynn in a state of utter comfort and relaxation.. though she supposed that finally finding your true position in life could do that to a soul. She had slept soundly beside her mate, shared meals with him and generally spent all her time getting to know the man that was her salvation. She had fallen in love with Lallybroch as soon as they had arrived there, and now she was falling swiftly in love with the young drakon male that had brought her home. It was nearly ten in the morning with she stretched and moved closer to Durgan's side of the bed, only to find that he was gone. The soft indentation in the bed was cool, so she knew he had been gone for a while. Yawning, she rose and went about her morning rituals.. shower, brushing and drying her long hair, and picking out some clothes to wear. The maids had been wonderful the week before, when her things had arrived from America.. they had helped her put everything in it's place and only a few boxes remained to be unpacked. Wearing a pair of dark blue jean shorts and an open backed halter top, she slipped on a pair of flip flops and ventured out of the castle. Accessing her connection with Durgan, she found that he was outside the castle, and not all that closeby, so she went into the kitchens instead. Ten minutes later, she came out with a glass of lemonade and a cookie, and went outside to lounge near the massive pool in the courtyard. With a deep sigh, she leaned back in the deckchair she had commandeered, and closed her eyes, letting the sun warm her in the same way a lizard might sun on a rock. It just felt good to be free and easy, to feel secure in herself and know that what she was doing was what was intended for her.)
