(He said back, his tone just a little flat, but tinged with amusement as he flipped the page and went back to reading quietly to himself. He was only keeping his distance from her because Durgan had made him aware of the fact that he had said the wrong thing when she had expressed love for him. He wasn't sure what she would think of him if he made advances just then.. and well, he needed her cooperation if this training thing was going to work. Without taking his gaze from the book, he leaned down and grabbed the edge of the sheet she was toying with, and pulled it up to lay it over her body, adjusting the blanket just a little over it before resting back again.) Aye, well, I didna have anything interesting to read before.. and there are more interesting things to do in bed than read a book. (He looked over at her then, and shifted his arm a bit, inviting her to come closer to him. He wanted to hold her while she slept, it allowed him to relax when he knew precisely where she was in case something happened during the night. He could protect her if he had her in his arms. He shifted the book a little to show her the cover, with an ancient looking wall drawing of a dragon in flight etched into it. She wouldn't understand the language, but he did.) Durgan was thinking mayhap we should try to figure out what yer powers are.. so I thought researching other whites might help us ken where to start, aye? (He tilted the book back so he could read some more, and he tapped an image of an egg preparing to hatch.) It says that whites are the product of two very powerful dragons.. or a white and her mate. Male whites are so rare there have only been three in recorded history. (He pursed his lips again, turning his gaze back to Bree.)
