(He watched her with the same sense of agitation, and knew that they were feeding each others emotions. Somehow, he didn't care. All he knew was that he had seen a lone female in the woods with no one to protect her and had wanted her. It didn't matter that he had heard his mothers screams in his mind and the terrified cries of his sisters as they ran for safety. It didn't matter that he couldn't bear to think of leaving a young woman alone in the woods when another Drakon could steal her. Hell, the McKail could steal her. It had eaten at his conscience just as much as it had appealed to the man in him. She was different than the females in his harem.. more like Kerri.. and that appealed to him. How could he tell her that and have her understand? He could feel the lingering burn on his fingertip from where he had sealed her.. and now he wondered if he would regret that. Did he have the strength to let her go should she chose to walk away? There wasn't an emotional attachment between them, he liked her.. but he did not love her. They weren't lovers, so it wouldn't be a seperation of body. It would be his honor that would suffer.. his ability to lead and protect. He had claimed her to safeguard her, to make her a part of his clan to see if she might someday become his mate. And now he couldn't figure out what his intentions were. He didn't respond verbally to her until her last sentence, then he snorted.) Ye are a part of my world, lass. Ye'll just have to get used to that. (He said with annoyance, ripping a piece of bread in half and taking a small bite of one side of it. He eyed the fire, glowering as he chewed. This girl had him so mixed up that he didn't know what to do with himself.. and he had bound himself to protect her for life.)
